Accounting (B.S.)
To meet the growing demands of the accounting field, our program encompasses a wide range of curricular and extracurricular components, emphasizing the demands of a complex professional environment. The curriculum focuses on integrating technology, globalization and ethics, preparing you for success in our global economy.

You can explore the business world and gain real-world experience before you graduate. Valuable professional opportunities such as internships and co-ops are available, and you will receive significant assistance in obtaining them.

A unique benefit of our accounting program is that it allows you to combine your undergraduate work with our innovative MBA program, a beneficial option if you wish to complete the 150-hour CPA exam requirement of most states. As a full-time student, you should be able to complete the combined degree program in five years or less. Modifications to this program allow you to pursue a second undergraduate major or minor without increasing total degree requirements. Double majors or minors in entrepreneurship, finance, international business, management information systems and operations management are especially popular.

The School of Business Administration's undergraduate and graduate programs, including the undergraduate accounting program, are accredited by AACSB International — The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

Our graduates often begin their careers in public accounting firms, manufacturing firms, governmental units and service organizations. Job responsibilities include auditing, consulting, financial analysis, investigative accounting, and tax planning. The accounting degree is also excellent preparation for law school, other graduate programs and professional certifications.

A vast majority of our students obtain relevant professional experience, with nearly 100 percent receiving placement by the date of graduation.
