Applied Mathematical Economics (B.S)
The applied mathematical economics program is offered jointly by the Department of Economics and Finance and the Department of Mathematics. As an applied mathematical economics major, you will take six courses in economics, eight in mathematics and two in computer science. We also offer a master's degree in financial mathematics; with careful planning, you can earn your bachelor's and master's degrees in just five years.

The use of mathematical techniques by business, government and industrial agencies in areas such as forecasting, management decision making, production planning and resource use are growing rapidly. Recent graduates have obtained employment in fields such as actuarial science, banking and financial institutions, business management, education, government, human resource management, labor and industrial relations, market research and public utilities. Your degree is also excellent preparation for graduate work in economics, public policy or statistics.
