The University of Dayton is a Catholic, Marianist institution. What does that mean to you? A lot. It means you will be challenged to find answers, reach out to others, search for a solution. We'll prepare you for a career — and for life. You'll be part of a community that lasts a lifetime — one who is always here when you need help.
Service-learning
You define yourself by strong principles and a sincere desire to help others, which is an integral part of life at the University of Dayton. In fact, you'll have many opportunities to turn your ethic into action — and benefit others in the process.
Through the Center for Social Concern, Fitz Center and various programs on campus, you can participate in philanthropic causes in Dayton and around the globe — not to mention bolster your T-shirt collection. Run a 5K to raise awareness for global hunger. Spend spring break serving families in Ecuador. Discover what life is like in the inner city during an Urban Plunge. Implement projects that conserve the Great Miami River. You'll also be encouraged to create or manage a service project that's most meaningful to you.
And with more than 30 service clubs on campus, you can dedicate your time to causes ranging from mentoring at-risk youth to advocating for human rights in Darfur. And all those event T-shirts don't hurt, either.
