Sport Management (B.S.)
To prepare for the diverse responsibilities in the world of sport management, you will take courses in both sport management and business. Through your studies in sport management, you'll gain an understanding of facilities, finance, human resource management, media, law, marketing and sales — and how it relates to sports.

You will also select a competency in either communication or languages, and you will minor in accounting, business administration, business economics, entrepreneurship, finance, leadership, marketing, MBA-Ready or operations management.

To gain hands-on experiences and prepare for a successful career, you will participate in two internships — one on-campus and one off-campus. These experiences are geared toward your future goals in the sport management field.

Sport management majors utilize well-equipped facilities on campus. The Thomas J. Frericks Center, state-of-the-art RecPlex, computer laboratories and a variety of other opportunities allow for full student development. Many off-campus sites, including sport facilities, companies and organizations, are used for practical experiences.

Career Opportunities
As a sport management professional, you will find employment in collegiate and professional organizations, sport clubs and athletic federations, and public or private recreation. Opportunities are also available in arenas and convention centers, event management and all forms of media.
