Welcome to the San Diego Chapter
You don't have to be on campus to be part of the University of Dayton community. Last year, alumni chapters across the country hosted more than 500 events, including career-related, community service, spiritual activities, events around Flyer athletics and of course, social activities. The San Diego chapter works hard to bring the Flyer spirit to your city by providing a wide variety of activities, services and events each year. We hope you enjoy your chapter site and find that it further connects you to your alma mater and fellow alumni. In addition to reading about past alumni events and viewing upcoming event information, you will soon be able to register for events and make payments online, browse alumni photo galleries and much, much more. We will be sure to keep you informed as more services and features of your alumni website become available.About the Chapter
Each alumni chapter takes a different approach in celebrating its connection with the University of Dayton by keeping the various aspects of its alumni group in mind. Each alumni chapter is comprised of alumni from different decades and degree areas. This is what makes our University so unique. Please check back to see what makes this chapter its own.

Ways to get involved...
We are looking for volunteers to help us plan events for our chapter. Event coordinators are responsible for deciding on date, time, and location for events and then communicating this information to your chapter president and Alumni Relations program coordinator who will publicize the information for you. At the event you will be a leader for the alumni group.
We are looking for coordinators in the following types of events:
Networking
Networking events give you a chance to interact with other alums and expand your professional contacts. As a networking event coordinator, you would also be responsible for deciding on the format of your networking event. For example, some chapters invite speakers or invite Career Services while some implement speed networking or industry roundtables.
Service/Christmas off Campus
Service events are a great way to give back to our local community and display the UD spirit. As a service event coordinator you would also be responsible for identifying an organization to work with, such as Big Brothers & Big Sisters or Habitat for Humanity, and for gathering any materials needed for the project.
Social/Recreational/Family
Social events are a fun way for alums to reconnect and relax. As a social coordinator you have a wide range of options for the type of event, from meeting up for drinks after work to taking the family mini golfing.
Spiritual
Spiritual events are another important way to reconnect with the University and enjoy time with other Flyers. Spiritual event coordinators often plan a Mass and brunch/dinner event, or feature a University speaker discussing relevant religious topics.
Sporting/Game watches
Gathering your fellow alums together around a sporting event is easy. You could organize a trip to a local sports event, a pre-game social before a UD team plays in your area, or a game watch when UD games are show on TV.
If you are interested or have any ideas, please contact Phil Cenedella '84, San Diego chapter president, at sandiego@alumni.udayton.edu.
