Internship Basics

The mission of the University of Dayton is to prepare students to learn, lead, and serve within a tradition of cultural and religious values that reflect our great American heritage. As a student in Criminal Justice Studies you are preparing to enter the work force in a position that will enable you to contribute to our society and the world in many ways.

The internship program provides you with a link between academics and the world of work. This experience is significant and valuable. Students with field experience are better prepared to understand and meet the challenges following graduation. Agencies that provide internships are often able to select and interview familiar job candidates. This is a potentially winning situation for the university, the student, and the agency.
