Neighborhood GIS Mapping

GIS mapping involves extensive use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in partnership with the Department of Geology to support social science courses and to add a new applied course to the curriculum for non-science students. GIS technology enhances the University's ability to document assets and needs, to contribute to neighborhood planning, and to build community through "the power of the picture."
