Welcome Alumni

In the Department of Geology, we are proud to maintain a close relationship with our alumni. Open communication among our faculty, staff, students and alumni allows for growth in many academic, professional and personal ways.

The study of geology can lead to a wide variety of careers relating to the study of the Earth's past and future. Many of our alumni continue their studies at the graduate level. A major career area in geology today is in the environmental arena. Other important areas include the discovery of new energy and/or mineral resources and the prediction, prevention and remediation of hazards related to the earth's dynamic processes such as earthquakes, volcanic activity, landslides, flooding and beach erosion.
