A racially-charged criminal trial and a heart-rending love story converge in this documentary about Richard and Mildred Loving, set during the turbulent Civil Rights era. Facilitated discussion of The Loving Story, will take place March 4, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in Marianist Hall Studio 218, led by Dr. Patricia Reid, Assistant Professor, Department of History.

This film is part of a series of screenings, lectures, discussion forums and scholarly presentations given by the University Libraries which center on four documentaries with riveting new footage illustrating the history of civil rights in America. The Created Equal film series is made possible through a major grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, as part of its Bridging Cultures initiative, in partnership with the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History.

Presentation of The Loving Story is also supported in part by Rosewood Arts Centre, a division of the City of Kettering's Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts department.
