Our 30-hour master's program is specifically designed for the licensed music teacher. The MSE in Music Education can be completed in three summers, or faster if you take courses offered in the fall and spring semesters. Online course delivery and flexible curriculum can be tailored to your needs through careful and personal advising.
Taught by highly qualified faculty, our master’s degree curriculum is purposefully integrated with Teacher Education courses so that music teachers align their graduate experiences with the real demands of today’s schools. Offering an excellent mix of contemporary music education, learning theories, history, philosophy, and research in the area of music education, our graduate students become equipped to grow as leaders not only in their field of expertise, but also leaders in their school districts, communities and professional organizations. The University of Dayton graduate degree in music education is offered in cooperation with the School of Education and Allied Professions and the College of Arts and Sciences. Completing this program will provide you with a Master of Science in Education degree with a Music Education concentration.
