Annual University of Dayton/Miami Valley Hospital Healthcare Symposium
Save the date for the Fourth Annual University of Dayton/Miami Valley Hospital Healthcare Symposium. This year's event, entitled "Current Controversies in Preventive Medicine" will take place on Saturday, March 23, 2013. Online registration will be available starting Feb 1.
This annual symposium offers unique opportunity for students, alumni and local physicians to come together for a day of dialogue and continuing education. The keynote speaker for the 2012 event was Dr. Harold Koenig and offered two simultaneous tracks. The first track included national, state and local leaders and experts in PCMH who discussed lessons learned implementing PCMH and provided opportunities for dialogue with the audience regarding the practicalities in implementing PCMH. The second track featured local medical educators Dr. Philip Diller and Dr. Evangeline Andarsio who along with keynote speaker Dr. Koenig discussed the role of spirituality in both the physician’s professional practice and the patient’s medical experience. A student track was offered to help students plan and prepare for their future in the health care field.
