Affordability

The University of Dayton MPA tuition is competitive with both public and private institutions in Ohio. Many graduate students apply for financial aid. For more information about pricing, financial aid options, assistantships and the graduate admissions process, visit the Office of Graduate Admissions and the Office of Financial Aid from the links at right.

Graduate Assistantships

Graduate Research Assistants contribute, with supervision, to a research program within the Department of Political Science. Research projects vary based on faculty member(s) the GA is assigned to and the ongoing research they are conducting. Graduate Assistants are asked to complete such tasks as editing papers or book chapters; grading; managing websites; assisting with instruction; indexing; background research and information gathering; and other administrative duties.

Graduate Administrative Assistants are enrolled in a graduate program and assigned duties by an administrative unit. You may work in offices such as the Dean of Students, Career Services, Residential Education or the Office of the Comptroller. Responsibilities should relate to your program of study and serve as legitimate work experience.

Procedure for obtaining an Assistantship

You must apply and be accepted to the appropriate graduate program as a full-time student. To be eligible as a Graduate Assistant in the Department of Political Science submit a copy of your resume to the MPA Program Director, with a cover letter expressing your interest in the position. Letters can be submitted electronically via email or through U.S. mail.
