Protecting the planet two wheels at a time.
At the University of Dayton, we’re taking a stand. We’re exploring innovative ways to protect our environment. We’re challenging our students to help preserve our planet. And we’re making the effort worth their while. To reduce carbon emissions, we’re working to reduce the use of cars on campus.
We’re inviting incoming first-year students to take a pledge not to bring a car to campus for their first two years here. In exchange, we’re giving 100 incoming first-year students brand new Linus bicycles. Every pledge will make a difference. Magnified across campus, the change could be remarkable.

EXPLORE DAYTON AND BEYOND
In addition to preserving our environment, our bike program aims to connect students with the city of Dayton and Ohio’s natural beauty. We’re empowering students to explore cafés, shops and museums throughout Dayton. We’re giving them access to the expansive Miami Valley bike trails that spiderweb throughout the stunning landscapes of western Ohio. All the while, our bicycles also encourage our students to live active, healthy lives — in college and for many years beyond.
JOIN THE INITIATIVE
This program is open to all incoming UD first-year students for fall 2013. Admitted students will receive a pledge card in their acceptance packet. Complete and return the card to UD, and you’ll be entered to win a brand new bike. If you need a replacement pledge card, contact the office of admission and financial aid at 800-UD-PRIDE (800-837-7433) or email@example.com.
Taking part in this pledge will put incoming students in the running to receive a brand new Linus bicycle. From all the pledges we receive, we’ll randomly select 100 incoming first-year students to receive new bicycles. Though taking this pledge won’t guarantee you a new bicycle, we can guarantee it will make you part of creating a more sustainable future.
