Relay for Life04.12.2013 | Campus and Community
This was the first year that I was able to attend Relay and I was so excited! This year I helped out the Education professional fraternity by serving walking tacos as well as walking. It was a really cold day but every second was worth it.
It was fun to see all of the different stands as well as hear live music, as this year it was held at Art Street. I always find it amazing how much dedication we have as a student body. You could walk by at any hour and find many students walking around the track for Relay.
Even though it was cold out, this time can be used as a good way to reflect on how lucky we are to be healthy as well as think about those you have known who have suffered from the terrible disease of cancer. It’s a rarity nowadays that someone doesn’t know a person who has had cancer in one form or another and I really hope that we can find a cure someday.
