Down on the Farm (Well...Not Really)

09.23.2011This morning I woke up earlier than usual to go to the Farmer’s Market with my mom. It takes place on a really big open field about 45 minutes away from our house and we really enjoy going because they always have interesting things that taste so delicious because it’s nice and fresh. Every product there is grown by a local farmer, so you know where it came from and that there weren’t a lot of chemicals used in the process. They sell things like fresh fruit, vegetables, baked breads and pastries, homemade lemonade, breakfast burritos, buffalo meat, grass fed beef and pork, fresh eggs, and a lot of other homemade items and goodies. What I like is that the items change every week, so you never know what kind of stuff will be there! We ended up getting some fresh tomatoes, buffalo jerky, banana peppers, kohlrabi (which is my absolute favorite!), mini cucumbers, Brussels sprouts, radishes, fresh squeezed lemon, peach, and plum lemonade and homemade chocolate croissants. When we got home, we did my absolute favorite part of the Farmer’s Market...sampling. And everything was delicious!
