My Christmas Kid

11.13.2010

Today was the kickoff to Christmas on Campus, so I waited in the long line to adopt a child. I was so excited about this, because I absolutely love children! After waiting for quite some time and filling out some paperwork, I received a slip of paper that had my “adopted child’s” name on it.

I got a first grader little girl, and I can’t wait to meet her! I wrote her a postcard, and I cannot wait to go shopping for her Christmas present. My friends didn’t realize that you could “adopt” a child today, so my “child” is really lucky, because she gets to have a few of us show her around and play games and make crafts with. I literally cannot wait to see what the Humanities building looks like all decorated and lit up—I even heard that we have real reindeer for the children.

I think this will be a great way to get everyone in the Christmas spirit. Being from a public school, we were never able to say “Christmas” and always had to general “Winter holiday” activities, so I can’t wait to see everyone in the Christmas spirit!
