Back to the Gym


After consuming all of that delicious food this weekend, there was really only one thing to do today—go back to the gym. Now, this sounds good in theory, but I think when I try to get out of bed tomorrow I will probably regret this decision.

My best friend Renee and I headed over to my church community center which offers a year-long membership for pretty cheap. We were both members there during the past year, but our memberships had expired so it was time to renew. That went off without a hitch, but then we realized something. We realized that people are still off work and school for break, and that place was super packed. So, instead of getting right on our elliptical machines, we started out alternating walking and jogging around the track. All in all we walked 8 laps and jogged 8, so that equaled out to 2 miles. We stretched a bunch and did a few ab exercises with medicine balls, and then got on the elliptical machines for 20 minutes. I about died. Literally. Okay, not literally. But I definitely could tell that I’m WAY out of shape. I’m pretty sure I haven’t worked out like that in probably 3 months. Trust me, I felt it.

As soon as I got home I ate lunch and showered, then I proceeded to take almost a 2 hour nap. I slept so soundly it was almost absurd. I can bet I will sleep that well tonight also. And when I stumble out of bed tomorrow and can barely walk, I’ll just have to remind myself that working out is fun! And it’s good for me! And…and it won’t kill me to take a day off from it…
