Goodbye to My Last First-Week
01.21.2012Well, everyone, I have successfully survived my final syllabus week (aka last first- week of the semester). And I was surprisingly tired by the time 5 pm yesterday rolled around. I’m only taking 12 credits this semester (finally!), and so I expected to be bouncing off the walls with energy. However, I did not factor in that I’d be spending a lot more time and energy on my internship and on my paid job. I only have class on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which is actually AWESOME, but on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays I’m not just sitting around twiddling my thumbs. I’m working at Media Production Group on campus from 11:30am-1:30pm and then working my virtual internship from 1:30-5pm Mondays and Wednesdays and from 1:30-3:30 or 4pm on Fridays. Needless to say, I’m still incredibly busy.
This week was a little wacky since I’m still getting into the swing of things and getting my schedule ironed out, but I’m thinking that by mid-next week I should have hit my stride and gotten comfortable with my routine. At least, I’m hoping that’s what happens. It’s always a balancing act, but it’s definitely taught me a lot about time management and prioritizing. So, here’s to the last first-week, enjoying the weekend off, and starting next week strong!
