Holiday Hoopla
12.26.2011I hope everyone is having a fantastic holiday season! I know I am. Its been weird being home for so long, but nice too. Ive been spending lots of time with my family and this past weekend was definitely full of all of that.
My moms side of the family came over on Christmas Eve to celebrate and just get together since we dont all get to see each other very often throughout the year. It was really great, like always. My mom and grandma cooked too much food, per usual, and we exchanged gifts and caught up. Its always nice to be able to see my cousins especially, since I really only see them two or three times a year. Later that night my mom, dad, brother, and I all opened our gifts from each other. I spent the rest of the night swooning over my new record player
I am literally in love with it. Now I just need to get some new records! Ive got the new Death Cab for Cutie and the new Blink-182, and Im going to look for more tonight!
Yesterday my dads side of the family came over to my house (yep, two days in a row at my house!) to celebrate. People started arriving around 11:30 am and stayed until about 4 pm. Its a big joke in my family that when we say were eating at 1 pm that means youd better be there by noon, 11:30 if youre smart. First we exchanged gifts and then set to work on the feast. By 2 pm I was about in a food coma and ready to nap. However, there were games to be played, conversations to be had, and laughs to be laughed. When everyone finally left I did take a mini-nap and then my immediate family and I watched The Hangover 2. Talk about an exhausting but great weekend!
Hope everyone else out there is taking advantage of the time with family, and Ill be back with more news later!
