Movie Madness and Modern Family

08.14.2011I think one of the weirdest things in the world for me at this time is not having to work. I literally have so much free time that I don’t know what to do with it. Obviously there are things I should be doing, perhaps starting to pack and such, but I just can’t bring myself to do any of it. I’m usually so motivated when it comes to marking things off my to-do lists, but lately I’ve been slacking. Instead of being productive, I’ve been watching movies and Modern Family. Yep, I’m talking regular couch-potato syndrome here. Which is moderately terrifying. Clearly, not an actual problem, but way different than my usual series of events. In the past week, I’ve watched the following movies: Tangled, No Strings Attached, Source Code, Life As We Know It, The Lincoln Lawyer, and The Help. That’s six movies. Normally I’m lucky if I watch six movies in six months, let alone six days. And I’ve also shamelessly watched nine episodes of Modern Family online. I can’t help it—I’m hooked. I think Phil is my favorite character, the quirky dad who thinks he’s hip and cool. Literally everything that he says makes me laugh. And his expressions are just genius. Oh, and of course Mitchell and Cameron, too. This show is brilliant. In fact, I might go watch another episode now before I start job-searching… I know this isn’t the end of the world, the fact that I’ve been media-absorbed lately. Actually, it’s probably a good thing if I start getting acquainted with movies and TV, considering it is kind of the field I want to get into. On that note, going to further my career…aka watch TV.
