Whirlwind of a Week...Literally

IÂ’ll just start off by saying that last week was INSANE. If youÂ’ve been reading this blog for any period of time, this statement probably isnÂ’t exactly shocking. But, for real, it was.

As I said previously, Wednesday was our last show for Princess and the Pea. Immediately after that, we tore down the set, which was exhausting. After about 3 hours of power tools and carrying flats, it was time for me to change and go to work.

I worked another event with my old boss, this time downtown Dayton at the Schuster Center. He videotaped the Kettering ChildrenÂ’s Choir performance and I took DVD and CD orders. After about an hour of selling, the concert started and I was left to entertain myself for the duration of the performance. About this time I received a text message notification from the University of Dayton emergency people telling me that there was a tornado warning for our county. At this point I decided it would be a good idea to remove myself from my post, which was about a foot away from a giant wall of windows. The sky got dark and the rain and wind blew through, but it actually didnÂ’t seem to be too terrible where I was downtown. My roommate, however, told me that the school had made everyone go into the basement of Stuart Complex to wait out the storm.

Luckily for me, by the time the concert ended and I was ready to head home, the storm had passed and it was basically clear-sailing from then on. But let me tell you, this weather weÂ’ve been having lately has just been insane. It had been about 80 degrees and sunny earlier that day! Just another example of how crazy Ohio really is.
