So it's that last week before Thanksgiving Break and everyone is beginning to reach their breaking point. Coffee sales have probably doubled and the Club Roesch (the library) is becoming much more popular. All those term papers and semester projects are due right around the corner and it's about that time that we begin wishing we had kept up with the required readings. Now, I can only speak for myself, but I am sure that many students feel the same. The sad part is that it's probably avoidable. They say that all the stress of having everything due at once can be managed if you start working on it sooner! Well, in my third year here it seems I'm still working on that skill. I have a paper due right after break and I've been doing my best to get most of it done before going home. Mostly because I know that all I'll want to do when I'm home is stuff my face with turkey and mashed potatoes, and play with my dog.
I haven't been home since summer because I live 7 hours away and it's hard to justify all that travel for only a four day break - it seems like most of it would be spent traveling. I'm used to this though. I always come up with creative things to do during the mid-term break and it usually ends up being very fun. This year I went home with my roommate to Cincinnati and we had a blast. However, there's something to be said for the comfort of being in your own home. Anyway, I can't wait to finally get there. I'm trying to use that as my motivation to get my work done beforehand. It's really all a mind game of motivation. I'll let you know how it all goes.
