Earn a Certificate in International Financial Reporting Standards From ICAEW and 3 Hours of College Credit
The University of Dayton (UD) Department of Accounting is pleased to announce course offerings, at both the graduate and undergraduate level (MBA 605B and ACC 412, respectively), in International Accounting. The courses include completion of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales' (ICAEW) IFRS Learning and Assessment Program.
ICAEW – headquartered in London - is a global accountancy body established in 1880 and a world-leader of the accountancy and finance profession.
The UD Department of Accounting is an ICAEW Approved Partner in Learning. The UD School of Business and Accounting Program are fully accredited by AACSB (the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.)

The aims of the ICAEW IFRS learning program include:
- "broad knowledge and understanding of financial reporting across all international financial reporting standards
- the ability to apply principles, concepts and knowledge from IFRS in simple business situations
- understanding of financial information produced under IFRS"
The course director is Professor and Mahrt Chair in Accounting Donna L. Street. Professor Street is President of the International Association for Accounting Education and Research (IAAER) and a recipient of the International Section of the American Accounting Association’s Outstanding International Accounting Educator Award.

Course Description: International Accounting - IFRS Certificate and Research
A comprehensive study of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Students will complete the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales’ (ICAEW) IFRS learning and assessment program and upon successful completion earn an IFRS certificate. The ICAEW program is an e-learning program. The course also includes preparation of research paper(s) addressing contemporary topics in international financial reporting. A significant tuition discount is available for students not pursuing a degree at the University of Dayton. In addition to tuition, a course fee (of approximately £320) applies to cover ICAEW charges for the IFRS textbook, access to the e-learning modules, and assessment test.
Prerequisite: Intermediate Financial Accounting II required, Advanced Financial Reporting strongly recommended, and permission of instructor.
