Center for the Integration of Faith & Work

Greetings!

Welcome to the Center for the Integration of Faith and Work website.  The site presents an overview of the programs and resources coordinated by the Center at the University of Dayton’s School of Business Administration.

The Center for Integration of Faith and Work was established in 2009 in order to provide a range of activities and programs that surface the religious and spiritual dimensions of the workplace concentrating particularly on the riches of the Catholic and Marianist Traditions.

In concert with the University of Dayton’s sense of religious mission in the professions, the Center engages in and contributes to a national and international discussion regarding the integration of faith and work.

This website offers opportunities for an enlightening and sustained encounter with the contemporary spiritual/ethical/moral thought and its relevance to present-day business culture. There are many ways for visitors to the site to correlate personal experience with specific topical areas as well as to examine spiritual traditions related to personal and professional interests.

Our Center provides academic programs, seminars and symposiums, and interdisciplinary reflection as well as opportunities to participate in prayer and cultural activities. We want to be a trusted resource for the melding of your faith and your work in your life. We look forward to conversations with you about opportunities in each of these areas for your own professional and personal development.

Browse the pages, attend a seminar, enroll in a course, or ask for assistance.  We are confident and hopeful that your use of our resources will deepen your understanding of and commitment to a sense of personal and corporate calling in your profession.

Blessings on each of us.

Brother Victor

Inspiring students values to support professional success

How are you doing at finding your calling? Are you developing values that will guide your life?

We can help you along a path to integrate your faith and work.

Professional success AND meaning in your career... Can you have it all?

Yes, if you’re willing to do the soul-searching and invest the time to develop not only your God-given talents but also your principles and values. As you work through the classes for your major and develop the knowledge necessary to get a job after graduation, now is the time to find out what type of work touches your heart and inspires you for a lifetime.

You see the challenges in our society. From corporations that bend accounting rules or individuals that create pyramid schemes that steal the retirement plans of trusting investors, you know that not everyone has a sense of values and convictions based on solid ground. We can help you to navigate the future challenges and support your professional development as you face ethical decisions of your own.

You can choose to see the world in a different light. You can help to change the business world and society by finding your calling through the integration of faith and work.

Imparting values to impact students, businesses & community

Do you feel a strong sense of mission in your work? How are you doing at making a difference in the lives of your students beyond technical instruction?

We can help you along a path to integrate your faith and work.

Inspiring students and sharing your values for the good of the business community

How are you feeling about your students ethical development? Are you finding ways to tie life lessons with classroom skills? You know that you are affecting more than just the future job prospect as you work with students. You see the potential your students have and you want to make the world a better place for all people. You may have seen your influence on an individual student turn into a legacy as they leverage their position in the workplace to improve society.

As you read the news, you see the challenges our society faces. From corporations that bend accounting rules or individuals that create pyramid schemes that steal the retirement plans of trusting investors, you know that not everyone has a sense of values and convictions based on solid teaching. You can play a part in inspiring students that there is more to more to operating a business than just making a profit.

You can choose to get in touch with your personal mission. You can help to change the business world and society by impacting students through the integration of faith and work.

Finding meaning in work and connections with others to live our values

Is your work a reflection of who you are? Are you searching for more meaning in your career?

We can help you along a path to integrate your faith and work.

Practical examples of how to integrate faith and work and the connections to support your personal development

Have you enjoyed professional success and financial security, yet yearn for more meaning in your work? Would you like to find others that share your values and can offer support and guidance as you search for significant connections? There is a path.

As you read the news and talk with co-workers, you see that a singular focus on financial success and asset acquisition doesn't bring a sense of satisfaction for a career. You know that ethical decision-making isn't a given and you may have faced some challenges in your workplace that have you searching for help. To move beyond ethics and become a leader in your organization takes a solid foundation in faith-based values.

The Center is a resource to business leaders to support ethical practices in day to day management. You can see examples of companies doing 'right things right' and connect with others who share similar beliefs based in Christian teaching. You can integrate your faith and work.
