The Davis Center
The Davis Center as a physical structure is an investment technology classroom at the University of Dayton providing industry-leading financial analysis software including 11 Bloomberg terminals, Baseline, StockVal ValueLine, and Morningstar Direct.  The Davis Center is both an introduction to real world portfolio management tools and a leadership development program to over 40-50 undergraduate students from all parts of the University. Members of the Davis Center are split of into five teams: ManagementSecurities AnalysisEconomic Analysis, RISE, and Outreach. The Securities Analysis and Economic Analysis teams are responsible for providing research to the Flyer Investments seminar in support of buy/hold/sell decisions for the Flyer Fund, an $18 million portfolio. The RISE Team in combination with the Outreach Team is responsible for marketing the annual RISE Forum and the Davis Center along with insuring the continuity within the center. Since inception, the Davis Center for Portfolio Management has had a 100% job placement rate with some of today's leading firms such as J.P. Morgan, Credit Suisse, Bloomberg, Blackrock, and Morgan Stanley.
Flyer Investments
Flyer Investments, a capstone student-managed portfolio seminar, manages over $18 million of the University's endowment in equity securities.  Students are empowered through the software and text resources of the Davis Center to gain hands-on experience as portfolio managers, reporting semi-annually to the Davis Center Advisory Board.  In managing this fund, students invest across sectors and industries in a well-diversified portfolio, utilizing in-depth analysis of equities.  According to the alumni network, which now spans over 200 professionals, this program lays the foundation for careers in the industry.
