I am proud to serve as executive director of the 13th annual RISE Forum. I invite you to join me at this internationally renowned investment conference sponsored annually by the University of Dayton in association with the United Nations Global Compact.
RISE is the largest and longest running student investment conference in the world. Each year, this prestigious student forum extends an invitation to business professionals to share in the first day of this two-and-a-half day event. The featured speakers are the best and the brightest from Wall Street, corporate America, government and the financial media. They hold equal appeal for students, professors and practitioners alike.
Held April 4 to 6, 2013, RISE 13 will feature presidents and CEOs from some of the most prominent firms in the industry, such as Ariel Investments, BlackRock, TD Ameritrade and TIAA-CREF. The chief investment strategists and chief economists from firms such as Barclays, Charles Schwab, Federated Investors, Mesirow Financial, Oppenheimer and TheStreet will make up our list of industry renowned panelists. RISE 13 will feature a "Federal Reserve Presidents Panel," a first for our student investment conference. The panel will provide dual perspectives on Federal Reserve policy, which has become such an important force in today's markets. Ben Bernanke, Chairman of the Federal Reserve, will also address the conference in pre-recorded comments.

RISE 13 has been approved for six CEUs toward the following professional designations and licensures: the Ohio Department of Insurance, CFP, and CIMA/CIMC/CPWA. Additionally, the program has been approved for 7.5 continuing education credits towards the CSOP/CTFA designations. Approval is pending from the CFA Institute. The Accountancy Board of Ohio does not require pre-approval for CPA credit.

Charles L. Evans, Ph.D.
President & CEO, Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago
Charles Evans was appointed the ninth president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago in September 2007. In that capacity, he will serve a rotational term in 2013 on the Federal Open Market Committee, the Federal Reserve's monetary policy-making body. He formerly served as director of research and senior vice president. Prior to that, Evans was a vice president and senior economist with responsibility for the macroeconomics research group. Published in respected academic journals, his personal research has focused on measuring the effects of monetary policy on U.S. economic activity, inflation and financial market prices. He holds a doctorate in economics and has taught at the University of Chicago, the University of Michigan and the University of South Carolina.
Dennis P. Lockhart
President & CEO, Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta
Dennis P. Lockhart took office March 1, 2007, as the 14th president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. Additionally, he is serving a rotational term in 2012 on the Federal Reserve’s chief monetary policy body, the Federal Open Market Committee. A former faculty member of Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, Lockhart also has private sector experience with venture capital/private equity funds in emerging markets. Lockhart worked for 13 years at Heller Financial, where he served as president of Heller International Group, which had activities in commercial finance and merchant banking in Europe, Latin America and Asia. Prior to that, Lockhart held various positions, both domestically and internationally, during his 17 years with Citicorp/Citibank (now Citigroup).
Anchor, FOX Business Network
David Asman joined FOX Business Network as an anchor in Sept. 2007, just prior to its October launch, and also serves as host of Forbes on Fox, a weekend half-hour program on FOX News Channel (FNC). Asman has been with FNC since 1997 when he was named weekday anchor for Fox News Live. In 2005, he was appointed head of FNC’s documentary unit, hosting a series of investigative specials. Between 1983 and 1997, Asman served in a variety of editorial, writing and administrative roles at the Wall Street Journal, expanding on a print journalism career that he had begun in 1978 as assistant editor of Prospect Magazine. This award-winning journalist was also editor of “The Wall Street Journal on Management: Adding Value Through Synergy” (Doubleday, 1990).
Roger W. Ferguson, Jr., Ph.D.
President & CEO, TIAA-CREF
Roger W. Ferguson, Jr., is president and CEO of TIAA-CREF, the leading provider of retirement services in the academic, research, medical, and cultural fields and a Fortune 100 financial services organization. Ferguson formerly served as vice chairman of the Board of Governors of the U.S. Federal Reserve System where he was a voting member of the Federal Open Market Committee. He is a member of President Obama's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness. Prior to joining TIAA-CREF in April 2008, Ferguson was head of financial services for Swiss Re. He began his career as an attorney at the New York City office of Davis Polk & Wardwell.
Edwin A. Finn, Jr.
Editor & President, Barron's
Ed Finn is editor and president of Barron's, a weekly financial magazine published by Dow Jones & Company since 1921 that is known for providing an incisive wrap-up of the previous week’s market activity and an informative outlook on the week ahead. He is responsible for its growing print, digital and conference operations. Finn is a frequent keynote speaker at investor conferences. He began his Dow Jones career in 1980 as a writer at The Wall Street Journal. Subsequently, he worked as a senior editor at Forbes and as the editor of American Banker before returning to Dow Jones in 1993 as managing editor of Barron's. Finn was named Barron's editor in 1995 and president in 1998.

Kathleen Hays is one of the top Economics reporters and anchors in the country, having covered the U.S. economy and the Federal Reserve for more than 20 years on television, radio, and in print and electronic media. In her latest venture since joining Bloomberg Television in 2006, she covers all the economic, market, and policy issues for which she is nationally known on The Hays Advantage, a weekday program on Bloomberg Radio. Formerly an anchor and Economics Correspondent at CNN, Hays’ TV career started at CNBC, where she became one of the key players on the morning show Squawk Box and served as the network’s Economics Editor. Prior to that, Hays helped found Market News International, worked on Reuters’ Money Desk, and was New York Bureau Chief for Investors Business Daily.

Mellody Hobson is president of Ariel Investments, a Chicago-based money management firm that serves institutional clients through separately managed accounts as well as individual investors and defined contribution plans through its no-load mutual funds. She is responsible for firmwide management and strategic planning, overseeing all operations outside of research and portfolio management. Hobson has become a nationally recognized voice on financial literacy and investor education. She is a regular financial contributor on Good Morning America and a frequent guest on ABC's World News Tonight. Hobson is also a weekly finance expert on the Tom Joyner Morning Show and a regular columnist for Black Enterprise.

Robert S. Kapito, president and a director of BlackRock, is a member of BlackRock's Global Executive Committee, chairman of its Global Operating Committee, and a director of iShares Inc. He is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of all BlackRock's key operating units, including investment strategies, client businesses, strategic product management, technology & operations, and risk & quantitative analysis. Prior to assuming his current responsibilities in 2007, he served as head of BlackRock's Portfolio Management Group where he was responsible for overseeing all portfolio management within BlackRock, including the fixed income, equity, liquidity and alternative investment groups. Before founding BlackRock in 1988, Kapito was a vice president in the Mortgage Products Group at The First Boston Corporation.

Barry C. Knapp is a Managing Director and Head of U.S. Equity Portfolio Strategy at Barclays, based in New York. Knapp joined Barclays in September 2008 from Lehman Brothers, where he had worked for 19 years, most recently as head of U.S. portfolio strategy. Prior to that, Knapp was in the principal trading & strategy group, trading multiple asset classes and helping manage equity division portfolio risk. Before moving into principal trading, he held numerous roles in equity derivatives, primarily focusing on macro products including index options, program trading, ETFs and equity options. Knapp received an M.B.A. in Finance from Fordham University and a B.A. in Economics with minors in Finance and History from the University of Rhode Island.

David Kudla founded Mainstay Capital Management in 2000 as a firm dedicated to serving individual investors. Senior Economics Reporter, CNBC
CNBC's senior economics reporter, Steve Liesman, reports on all aspects of the economy including the Federal Reserve Bank and major economic indicators. Liesman joined CNBC from The Wall Street Journal where he served as a senior economics reporter covering monetary policy, international economics, academic research and productivity. Liesman previously worked as an energy reporter and as the Journal's Moscow bureau chief. He was a member of the reporting team recognized with a Pulitzer Prize for stories chronicling the crash of the Russian financial markets. Prior to that, Liesman was the business editor for The Moscow Times where, as the founding business editor for the country's first English language daily newspaper, he helped create the publication's stock index, which was the country's first.

Stephanie Link leads all investment, research and contributor recruitment activities at TheStreet. As CIO, she oversees premium content including RealMoney, RealMoney Pro and OptionsProfits as well as premium newsletters including Breakout Stocks and Stocks Under $10. As co-portfolio manager of Jim Cramer’s charitable trust portfolio, Link is responsible for the daily management of the fund including macro strategy, portfolio construction, and stock selection. She also writes daily alerts and weekly summary reports for subscribers. A CNBC contributor, Link appears regularly on Fast Money Halftime, Closing Bell, Squawk Box and The Kudlow Report.
