Profile

Christen's career in language education began as a student and teacher of French. She completed her B.A. in French Education, including two study abroad/immersion experiences in France, and subsequently worked as a French teacher in a private high school.  Christen's interest in teaching English as a second language grew out of a year of service with AmeriCorps in Lexington, Kentucky, where she helped provide literacy tutoring and other resettlement support to refugee students and families.  She completed her master’s degree in TESOL at Wright State University, serving as a teaching assistant in the English department and as a tutor and instructor in the LEAP intensive English program. Christen has been an instructor in UD’s Intensive English Program since August 2012.
