Her interest in the field of international education and intercultural matters was fueled by her own experiences. Harriet was an international student, and she has worked with refugee resettlements in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Ivory Coast, Zambia, and more recently at Catholic Social Services of Miami Valley.

In her spare time, Harriet enjoys chocolate, traveling with her husband, and volunteering with refugees resettled in the Miami Valley area.
