Profile

Courtney has been an instructor in the Intensive English Program since January 2013. She has also taught English as a Second Language (ESL) at California State University Long Beach, Southern State University and the Los Angeles Unified School District. While studying Environmental Science at Universidad de Tabasco, Mexico, she worked as a teaching assistant in the English department and volunteered with an indigenous women’s group. She has always been interested in learning languages and other cultures, and prior to teaching, she worked as a travel agent and study abroad advisor. Her overseas experience includes teaching in a summer program in China, working as a barista in Italy, waitressing in Ireland, picking grapes in New Zealand, and washing dishes in Germany.  When she's not teaching, Courtney loves being outdoors, meeting new people, and spending time with her husband and 8 year old son.
