Profile
Brenna has been with the Intensive English Program since fall 2009. She received her B.A. from King College in Bristol, Tennessee, and an M.A. in Applied Linguistics from Georgia State University. Brenna speaks Spanish fluently, as a result of her experience living abroad. Her experience teaching English in Peru, combined with her time as a high school English teacher, resulted in her decision to pursue a career as an ESL professional. She has done research in second language writing and prosodics, and is especially interested in affective issues in intercultural communication. Her current research explores international student strategies for success beyond the IEP. Brenna is married to a Spanish speaker, a native of Colombia, and they have four children. In her spare time, she is interested in green living and urban farming, and loves to read about theology and linguistics.
