Profile

Teresa is part of the leadership team in the Intensive English Program. As associate program manager, she supports and supervises instructors, facilitates professional development training workshops, and is responsible for the IEP Levels 1-3 curriculum. Her professional expertise is in second language pedagogy, second language acquisition, and TESOL Professional Development Teacher Training. She has a strong background in staff management and recruitment, online course management systems, and online instructional design systems for post-secondary curriculum. As a Second Language Methods instructor, her strength lies in Learner Centered Methodology. In addition to training English language teachers from around the world online for the E-Teacher Scholarship Program, Teresa has trained teachers abroad as an English Language Specialist. Both the online teacher training and teacher training abroad were for the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) sponsored programs. In Fall of 2011, she conducted teacher training workshops for faculty of the School of Foreign Languages at Selcuk University in Konya, Turkey, and also worked locally with the Micro-scholarship Access Program for secondary level English language learners. In addition to her work at University of Dayton, she continues to work in the field of international education training second language teachers in Learner Centered Methodology workshops implemented at the American Councils for International Education, Washington, D.C., for U.S. Department of State, ECA sponsored programs.
