Profile

Donna Hess was a paralegal for 15 years before coming to UD. She joined the Department of Geology in 1998, as an administrative assistant. Donna earned CAP-OM certification while working in the geology department.

The Staff Perspective

I love working in the geology department at UD - they are a great group of faculty members. I have the opportunity to interact with the students a great deal and I enjoy helping them and watching them grow and graduate. What is truly special is when the students stay in touch even after graduation. It has become a tradition of sorts for the students to send postcards of their travels; I have a large collection displayed on the front of my desk which I recently scanned and can now be viewed on the Geology Facebook page. I value the ability to keep current on new technology and what is "happening" with our youth. It certainly helps to keep me on my toes!
