Heidi McGrew

Profile

Heidi McGrew has been an instructor of introductory earth science courses at UD since 1996. In 1997, she and her husband, Allen McGrew, were co-recipients of the "Innovation in Service Learning" award for development of the "Field Trip to Planet Earth" program for elementary school children. From 2001 to 2005, she was the co-coordinator of the Integrated Natural Science Sequence.

The Faculty Perspective

I became a geologist because I am very interested in earth processes. I love to communicate that excitement to my students, most of whom are not science majors. I feel that understanding our natural world leads to a greater appreciation of it.
