Profile

With the University since 1971, Dr. Palermo is a professor in the Department of History. He has served the University in various capacities, including the founding director of the University Honors Program, and associate provost, where he took a leadership role in many University initiatives. Dr. Palermo is deeply involved in the Dayton community, serving on numerous boards for cultural and service organizations. He has had published a variety of pieces on higher education, American political culture and community formation, and progressivism.

As an educator my goal is to help students develop into well educated servant leaders as well as to assist students in achieving their personal educational goals.
