JulieAnn (Martin) Bernard is Head Director for the Centerville City Schools Orchestra program in Dayton, Ohio. This is her 19th year of teaching and her 9th year in Centerville after previously holding a decade tenure as Director of Orchestras for Oakwood City Schools. Under Mrs. Bernard's baton Centerville's Symphonic Orchestra has twice competed and placed at the ASTA National Orchestra Festival. Additionally, the Symphonic Orchestra performed at the 2008 and 2011 OMEA Professional Development Conference.

JulieAnn is a 1993 Magna Cum Laude graduate from Miami University where she held the Patricia Jellinek Hallowell Scholarship, a four-year full tuition award. She holds a Masters of Science in Education and Allied Professions with a Concentration in Music Education from the University of Dayton. Her performance credentials include: Concertmaster of the Arkansas Music Festival Chamber Orchestra, Principal Second of the Classical Music Festival-Seminar Orchestra in Eisenstadt, Austria; full-scholarship to attend Brevard Music Festival and is an alumnae of the prestigious Interlochen summer music program.

As a young soloist, JulieAnn had the great fortune to perform in a Master Class for renown string educator Elizabeth Green. As a member of the former Myriad String Quartet, Mrs. Bernard performed in Master Classes for The American String Quartet and The Santa Barbara String Quartet. The Myriad String Quartet won an Honorable Mention at the Coleman Chamber Music Competition, was invited to compete in the prestigious Fischoff Competition while also enjoying rave reviews for their tour of Austria and the former Czechoslovakia. 

Mrs. Bernard is active as both a clinician and guest conductor as well as continuing to perform regularly as a violinist, violist, cellist and vocalist.
