Wallis Vore, D.M.A, is a prominent freelance musician in Dayton, Cincinnati, and Northern Kentucky. She performs regularly with The Dayton Philharmonic, The Springfield Symphony, and The Blue Ash Symphony. Proficient on auxiliary instruments, she is often called upon to play E-flat and bass clarinet. Formerly an Artist-in-Residence and the Woodwind Coordinator at the Bay View Music Festival in Petoskey, Michigan, she currently spends her summers playing clarinet, bass clarinet, and saxophone at the Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre. Dedicated to education, Dr. Vore is the clarinet instructor at the University of Dayton and maintains a full private studio throughout Southern Ohio and Northern Kentucky. Her students perform regularly and often hold high chairs in the All-State ensembles in Kentucky and Ohio, Northern Kentucky Select Band and Wind Ensemble, Cincinnati Youth Wind Ensemble, and the Dayton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. She also directs the clarinet ensemble affiliated with the Tri-State Ensembles organization. Dr. Vore earned her Doctorate of Musical Arts with a cognate in Arts Administration, and Master of Music degree the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, and her Bachelor of Music degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her principal teachers include Richie Hawley, Ron Aufmann, Steve Cohen, Ron deKant, and Dr. Charles West.
