Matt Shreffler is the head of Stacks Maintenance in the Roesch Library. He is a member of the Access Services Department and can often be found working at the Circulation Desk on the first floor. He maintains the general collection through shelving returned items, shelf-reading for accuracy, and shifting items to maximize space. He also organizes certain special areas, including the collection at the Remote Storage location. He is the main contact for the “Roesch 2U” document delivery service on campus for faculty requests. Throughout the day he supervises a group of student workers who help in all areas of maintaining the collection.
Ever since he was a kid, Matt has enjoyed spending lots of time in libraries. During college he became interested in working in libraries as a career, and he has had great experiences at both public and academic libraries. When he’s not putting things in order, he’s learning how to be a better racquetball player from students at the RecPlex. During warmer months, he finds time to jog and to join in intramural sports. When he’s not on campus, he’s participating in playtime with his many nieces and nephews.
