The School of Education and Allied Professions' mission is “building learning communities through critical reflection.” The School's vision is to prepare distinctive graduates who will effectively and efficiently utilize the highest quality of learning, leadership and scholarship to build strong learning communities and develop collaborative, caring partnerships. The School of Education and Allied Professions merges critical reflection with fostering a learning community that focuses on educational theory and practice.

Roxani Saberi, American journalist held for three months in Iran on charges of conspiracy, kicks off the University of Dayton's 2010-2011 Diversity Lecture Series with a free talk, "On the Streets of Tehran." She's the author of Between Two Worlds.
