Can I begin taking classes before I have been accepted into a program?
Students seeking admission to a degree or licensure program are permitted to register for no more than six semester hours prior to being officially admitted to a program. Students will register as a non-degree student at http://adulteducation.udayton.edu prior to being admitted.

Can I speak to an adviser before applying?
Individual advisers are assigned upon acceptance into the master's degree in educational leadership program. Please contact the Department of Educational Leadership at 937-229-3755 or janice.keivel@notes.udayton.edu with general questions prior to application.

Can I transfer course credits from another university or college?
Students may request a maximum of six semester hours — or nine quarter hours — of graduate credits earned at another institution be transferred to a master’s degree program, provided the credits earned have been within the past five years, carry of grade of “B” or better and relate to the course content of the UD program. Students should complete the Transfer Credit Form on the department home page and fax it to Janice Keivel at 937-229-3392.

How do I apply for graduation?
Students can apply for graduation online. If after applying you are unable to complete your requirements, please notify Gina Seiter in the School of Education and Allied Professions at gina.seiter@notes.udayton.edu 937-229-3146.

How do I apply for licensure?
Students preparing to apply for licensure should contact the licensure office at 937-229-3146 for confirmation that requirements have been met and for completion of the appropriate paperwork.

How do I check the status of my application after I have applied online?
Students who wish to check the status of their application can do so at http://gradadmission.udayton.edu/application/adm_status.asp or by contacting enrollment management at 937-229-3065 or 800-837-7433.

How long will it take to process my graduate application?
In addition to the graduate application form, applicants are required to submit three letters of recommendation, official undergraduate transcripts, admission test results (if necessary) and a personal statement. Once all necessary paperwork and fees have been received, your application will require up to four to six weeks to process.

I have a master's degree, and I want to pursue a principal license. How do I start?
When you apply to the Principal Licensure Program, an audit will be conducted, and you will receive documentation of the coursework that will be required. Since this license is based on the University of Dayton's master's degree in educational leadership, you may be required to "make up" some 500-level courses as well. If you wish to expedite the audit process, pleases contact Gina Seiter at gina.seiter@notes.udayton.edu or 937 229- 3146 to request an evaluation of your transcripts.

I registered for classes, but I don't remember my schedule. How can I check it?
Confirmed student schedules may be viewed and printed online at the student Web portal. Questions or concerns may be directed to the registration office at 937-229-3723 or 800-259-8864.

If I didn't officially register for a course, can I 'walk-in' to the first class meeting?
No registration, no seat. Students in the master's degree program (500 level courses) must be registered before the first scheduled class meeting. Students who "walk-in" to class at the first meeting without being officially registered for the course may be conditionally admitted based on the availability of seats. If an official class roster is at the maximum enrollment level, the "walk-in" student will not be permitted to continue in the class.

Is there a specific sequence of classes that I must follow?
There is no established order for taking courses except that EDA 551 Research must be completed prior to taking EDA 507 Internship I. We recommend that students complete three to four courses before taking EDA 551 Research. Degree and licensure courses are offered on campus, at off-campus sites and online in such a manner that enables students to complete requirements in a timely manner. Students who do not follow the scheduled sequence of courses as identified in the departmental matrix may be required to complete coursework in additional terms. Students may register for only one of the two internship courses (EDA 507 and EDA 607) in any given term.

What are the specific courses I will be required to take?
Each program has specific courses that are required for the degree or licensure. A complete list of required courses can be found on the Areas of Study page. The master's degree in educational leadership consists of ten courses totaling 30 semester hours. The number of hours for licensure programs vary and build upon other programs in addition to the listed coursework.

What is the easiest way to add or drop courses?
Schedules can be changed online until the first day of the term. Beginning the first day of each session, you must process a Drop/Add Form. If you are unable to pick up a form, contact the educational leadership department office at 937-229-3755 or the registration office at 937-229-4734 or 800-833-5937.

What is the easiest way to register for courses?
