John R. Schleppi Sport Management Career Enhancement Fund
What is the fund?
The fund was established to recognize Dr. Schleppi's leadership role in the University of Dayton's Sport Management program, starting in 1986.
This fund assists a student in making the transition from college studies to the post-graduate world and is to be used to attend professional conferences. These opportunities provide students with experience and offer excellent networking platforms as they begin looking for jobs after graduation.
A student will be chosen by a panel of seniors, based on how the top applicant best conveys why they chose their conference. The annual award will be in the amount of $1,500. Two runners-up will receive an amount totaling $250 each.
The Schleppi Fund has raised $70,000 thus far from the efforts of Sport Management students. However, our goal is to provide career enhancement opportunities to as many students as possible, so we now have a goal of $100,000.
This fund is given to a non-graduating Sport Management student and is to be used to fund conference participation. The individual must demonstrate a desire to enhance his/her education.

How to donate
At the University of Dayton, we are committed to providing an education that extends beyond the walls of the University. The Sport Management Program allows students to gain real life experience, which includes attending conferences, working with companies, and generating opportunities to advance in the sport industry.
Making a donation to the John R. Schleppi, Ph. D, Sport Management Career Enhancement Fund will help support our students’ opportunities to learn more about and to experience the sport industry first hand.
