We provide leadership and support for the integration of technology-enhanced learning programs and strategies in the undergraduate and graduate programs of the School of Education and Allied Professions.Our Services
- Assist students with the use of ITEL's resources.
- Serve as a preview center for computer software for students, faculty, staff and local educators.
- Provide training for faculty and staff.
- Inform faculty about the current trends in educational technology, including hardware and software concerns, social and ethical issues, and successful teaching practices using computers and allied technologies.
- Introduce and encourage the use of technology (primarily via computers) as an alternate mode of delivering instruction, with an emphasis on the "hands-on" nature of the technology.
- Reduce the computer anxiety of users by providing help, support and encouragement in a non-threatening environment.
Best Practices Lab
ITEL’s Best Practices Lab, located in Chaminade Hall 202, offers a flexible space for quiet study or classroom instruction. The room includes UD wireless, two networked computers, a Smart Board, a whiteboard, a projector, a scanner and a teacher workstation also on the network. A printer is also available.
If more student computers are needed, laptops can be reserved by contacting Josh Schrank at 937-229-3064.
PC Lab
For larger classroom computer needs, the PC Lab, located in Chaminade Hall 201, provides 27 networked computers. A Smart Board, large white boards, a scanner, a printer and a teacher workstation on the network allow for options when instructing a class. UD wireless is also available.
