About the Program

In cooperation with Wright State University, Central State University and the Air Force Institute of Technology, we have started the state's first master's program in clean and renewable energy. Faculty from all four institutions teach courses to approximately thirty qualified students. You can earn the degree from either the University of Dayton or Wright State, depending on where you enroll.

Coursework focuses on development of energy-reducing design techniques, renewable energy and manufacturing systems, and better forms of solar energy, fuel cells and biofuels. Besides developing more engineers, the program actively pursues the means for stable, clean and economical energy sources. Employers working in fuel cells and other energy sources are looking for qualified people. This two-year program can help you move into private sector research and application or lead you to further growth in research and development.

The program operates through the University of Dayton's mechanical and aerospace engineering department and Wright State University's mechanical and materials engineering department.
