Graduate Programs

At the University of Dayton, you can choose from 20 graduate programs and degrees and participate in groundbreaking engineering and cross-disciplinary research on-campus, on-site or through distance education.

Our world-class graduate programs support local and national research. UD is the No. 1 University in Ohio conducting Department of Defense sponsored R&D. Significant collaborative opportunities are available with the University of Dayton Research Institute and the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. We boast state-of-the-art research facilities on campus, including 88 laboratories.

The majority of our full-time graduate students in engineering — 65 percent — receive a teaching or research assistantship, which provides tuition plus a stipend. Other financial support includes scholarships and fellowships through the School of Engineering, the Dayton Area Graduate Studies Institute (DAGSI) and individual academic programs.

DAGSI
UD partners with the DAGSI along with the Air Force Institute of Technology and Write State University.  The institute is a consortium of graduate engineering schools whose ultimate goal is to support Ohio's economic growth and workforce needs by developing advanced engineering talent.  Students have access to courses, faculty, facilities, resources at all three schools and may

  • cross-register for courses at another DAGSI partner,
  • work with faculty at any DAGSI institution,
  • create a specialized major with courses from multiple universities,
  • enroll in a joint M.S. program in renewable and clean energy.
