Summer Honors Engineering Camp
Highlights
Are you ready to experience engineering? The Summer Honors Engineering Camp starts with a welcome meeting, giving you and your parents/guardians the opportunity to meet with counselors, faculty and staff. You'll hear from a keynote speaker, who will share personal experiences in engineering and opportunities available in the field.
Have questions about engineering? On Friday, you'll enjoy a sit-down dinner with a practicing engineer from a field of your choice. Find out how you'll put your degree to use, how engineering careers change over time, what a typical day at work is like, how to find job satisfaction and more. Prior to the dinner, your counselor will hold an informational session with your group, eliciting possible discussion points for the guest engineer.
The program will close with a graduation luncheon where a keynote speaker will challenge you to become part of an engineering success story. Share your activities with your parents — and relive them yourself — as you watch a slide presentation of the week's events.
There are plenty of fun activities during the week, too. Interact with your peers, counselors, faculty and staff during a cookout, pizza party and ice cream social. Play a pick-up basketball game, conquer the climbing wall, or use the pool in the RecPlex — the University of Dayton's new recreation and fitness complex. Enjoy billiards, bowling and video games in the Hangar — the student union game room.
