About the Innovation Center

Student working in Innovation Center PhotoThe Center's mission emphasizes undergraduate engineering education that results in graduates with unique capabilities who research and develop new technologies and new product ideas.  Today, they participate in over 80 projects every year that reflect today's business and industry arena!

Benefits:

  • education for engineers in a global economy
  • multidisciplinary interactions with campus and industry
  • opportunities for creative students to create
  • support for community inventor ideas
  • projects enter the University of Dayton Business Plan Competition

Objectives:

  • develop a prototype of a design
  • write a business plan that the entrepreneur can use to seek funding and perhaps start a business

Our faculty and students gain from the business aspects of engineering, which is a cornerstone of our commitment to the University of Dayton and the Kern Family Foundation, a supporter of top engineering programs nationwide.

"The students provided us with a great design and testing that will enable us to go to market with a great product that meets our high standards." —Alex Moore, Southpaw Enterprises
