Bio: Dr. Vijayan Asari is the Director of the Computer Vision and Wide Area Surveillance Laboratory (UD Vision Lab) at the University of Dayton. Dr. Asari received the Bachelor's degree in electronics and communication engineering from the University of Kerala (College of Engineering, Trivandrum), India, in 1978, the M. Tech and Ph. D degrees in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, in 1984 and 1994 respectively. Dr. Asari joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UD in February 2010. Prior to UD, Dr. Asari spent ten successful years at Old Dominion University where the Vision Lab was originated. Before ODU, Dr. Asari worked as Assistant Professor in electronics and communications at TKM College of Engineering, University of Kerala, India, and as Research Fellow at National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Dr. Asari is a Senior Member of the IEEE and SPIE.
