Research Topics:  Assistive devices and technologies for the physically disabled and the elderly, and brain-machine interface and the related applications.

Bio:  Hiroki Higa received the B.E. and M.E. degrees in Electronics & Information Engineering from University of the Ryukyus, Japan, in 1992 and 1994, respectively. He received the Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering from Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan in 1997. From 1997 to 2005, he had been a Research Associate at University of the Ryukyus. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Electrical & Electronics Engineering, University of the Ryukyus, Japan. He was a Visiting Researcher in Vision Lab affiliated to the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Old Dominion University, VA, USA in 2008. His research interests include assistive devices and technologies for the physically disabled and the elderly, and brain-machine interface and the related applications.
