Bio: Yakov Diskin is an Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) PhD student at the University of Dayton. As a graduate research assistant under the supervision of Dr. Vijayan Asari, Ohio Research Scholars Endowed Chair in Wide Area Surveillance, Mr. Diskin is an active contributor to the Computer Vision and Wide Area Surveillance Laboratory (UD Vision Lab) at the University of Dayton. Specializing in computer vision research, his primary research focus is in the field of 3D reconstruction for motion imagery and autonomous vision-based navigation, where he has completed nine publications in the related areas. Mr. Diskin's other research interests include biometrics, object recognition, 3D scene visualization, object tracking and image enhancement.
