Growing up, I heard my dad repeat stories over and over again, about how wonderful, educational, and unforgettable his university years were.
My father attended the University of Dayton many, many years ago, and it was always his dream for me to do the same. Being an international student, he told me he felt right at home. Everyone treated him fairly, he made many life-long friends, and loved every second spent at the University of Dayton.
Time passed, I graduated high school, and went on to secondary school. Now I have earned my diploma in business marketing and I am currently working as a marketing assistant in a government-owned petroleum company. It seems like I have moved on with my life and with my dad's dream, but it never faded away, it was just moved to the back burner for a while.
Now I want to continue with my studies and earn my BS, and maybe even go on to do my master's. After having grown a bit, I can make better and more mature decisions. I am now ready to leave the country of Qatar where I live, and start a new chapter in my life, as an international student, in a new country, at a new university. What better place to consider than the university my father loved so much and I had grown up hearing all about. After all the stories I heard, I feel like I already live there, and I will love it extremely! I have applied to the University of Dayton, and it has no longer become just my father's dream for me to attend — it has also become mine. So I am hoping to live and see all the wonderful things I heard first hand as soon as possible!
