Chapel of the Immaculate Conception

As the University of Dayton has transformed into one of the nation’s top Catholic universities, the chapel, too, has undergone many transformations — often inspired by practical needs and limited by resources.

Today, our master plan calls for a transformation of our beloved chapel, a transformation guided by our faith community’s spiritual and liturgical needs. Through prayerful discussion, the University community has developed a renovation plan, designed in accordance with the guidelines of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, that will enable a wider range of liturgical and ritual actions than the chapel currently allows without losing its historical integrity and look.

The renovation will fulfill our longstanding desire to celebrate liturgies that engage the faithful in full, active, and conscious participation, and that reflect the distinctive Marianist community-to-faith spirit.
